Wings for Autism
Wings for Autism® is an airport rehearsal program designed specifically for individuals with autism or other intellectual and developmental disabilities. Families are given the opportunity to practice each step of air travel—including entering the airport, obtaining a boarding pass, going through TSA security, and boarding a real plane (which does not take off).

For many individuals with intellectual and unique abilities, the experience of air travel can feel unfamiliar and overwhelming. Wings for Autism® provides a supportive environment where participants and their families can experience the airport process from check-in through boarding an aircraft, helping build confidence for future travel.
Since 1958, The Arc Tampa Bay has supported individuals with intellectual and unique abilities and other neurodiverse individuals throughout our community. The organization is dedicated to supporting and empowering people of all abilities to live meaningful, self-directed lives.
Sponsoring Wings for Autism® does more than bring this experience to life—it helps sustain the full continuum of essential services provided by The Arc Tampa Bay, ensuring individuals and families have the support they need not just for today, but for a lifetime. There needs to be clarity that financial support is for all of our services not just this event.
For more information on the opportunities available, please download our Wings for Autism Sponsorship Opportunities.

Participant Registration
Space is limited. Registration is required.
Participant registration will open at 10:00 a.m. on June 24, 2026.
Wings for Autism® continues to experience tremendous community interest. To help ensure access for as many families as possible, registration for the 2026 event will be offered to families who were not allocated a seat in last year’s program.
Available seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis among eligible registrants until event capacity is reached.
This decision was made in response to the high demand for the event and our commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for new participants to experience the airport and air travel process in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Once all available seats have been filled, additional registrants will be placed on a waitlist and contacted if space becomes available.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming families to this year’s event.
